Custom Decks, Porches, Pergolas & More
Ann Arbor homes vary widely—from older neighborhoods with tight lot lines to newer builds with open backyards. Outdoor projects need to fit not just the home, but the specific property and how the space will actually be used.
We regularly work in areas like Burns Park, Water Hill, and the surrounding townships, where grading, setbacks, and existing structures all influence how a deck or porch should be designed and built.
Whether it’s integrating with an existing home, working around elevation changes, or planning for long-term durability through Michigan seasons, each project is approached with those local conditions in mind.
We have completed deck and outdoor living projects throughout Ann Arbor, including new deck construction, rebuilds, and upgrades to existing structures.
The examples shown here reflect real work completed in the Ann Arbor area, with each project designed around the home and how the space is used day to day.

This Ann Arbor deck project was a full rebuild, replacing an aging structure with a new Trex composite deck designed for long-term durability and improved functionality. The project features Trex Enhanced Naturals in Coastal Bluff, paired with a landing, integrated stairs, and Trex Signature black aluminum railing with matching newel posts.
In addition to the deck rebuild, we made targeted improvements to the existing porch, including updated screens and a new patio door to better connect the indoor and outdoor living spaces. The finished design creates a clean, low-maintenance outdoor area that fits naturally with the home and surrounding property.
This project reflects a common need for Ann Arbor homeowners looking to replace aging decks with low-maintenance composite materials.

This Ann Arbor outdoor living project combined a new Trex composite deck with a custom covered and screened porch, creating a versatile space for both open-air and protected use. The deck features Trex Signature decking in Ocracoke, along with matching fascia and risers for a clean, consistent finish.
The screened porch structure includes cedar-wrapped posts and beams, paired with a vaulted ceiling finished in WoodTone tongue-and-groove in American Nut Brown. Trex Signature black aluminum railing with square balusters and matching newel posts defines the deck perimeter and stair system, providing both safety and a modern contrast to the natural wood tones.
Additional features include integrated stairs for easy yard access, a Visual Comfort Maverick ceiling fan for airflow, and Amina heritage-style outdoor carriage lights in distressed zinc to enhance both function and evening ambiance. The result is a durable, low-maintenance outdoor space designed to fit naturally with the home while expanding usable living area throughout the seasons.
This type of covered porch is ideal for Ann Arbor homeowners who want to extend their outdoor living space through changing seasons.
